<p> 　　湘雅醫(yī)院始建于1906年，初名雅禮醫(yī)院，是由湖南育群學(xué)會(huì)和美國(guó)雅禮協(xié)會(huì)合作創(chuàng)辦，是我國(guó)最早的西醫(yī)院之一，享有“南湘雅”之盛譽(yù)。1978年，劃歸國(guó)家衛(wèi)生部直管， 1992年獲湖南省首批三級(jí)甲等醫(yī)院。2000年，中南大學(xué)合并組建，醫(yī)院更名為中南大學(xué)湘雅醫(yī)院。歷經(jīng)百年發(fā)展，現(xiàn)已成為國(guó)家衛(wèi)生部直管，集醫(yī)療、教學(xué)、科研于一體的現(xiàn)代化大型綜合性醫(yī)院，是我國(guó)重要的醫(yī)療診治、醫(yī)學(xué)教育和醫(yī)學(xué)研究中心。編制床位達(dá)到3500張。</p><p> 　　湘雅遵循 “公勇勤慎、誠(chéng)愛謙廉、求真求確、必邃必?！钡南嫜判Ｓ?xùn)，秉承“嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)、團(tuán)結(jié)、求實(shí)、進(jìn)取”的湘雅精神，造就了張孝騫、湯飛凡、李振翩等一大批在國(guó)內(nèi)外有影響的醫(yī)學(xué)專家。1992年，中國(guó)郵政首次發(fā)行4枚現(xiàn)代科學(xué)家紀(jì)念郵票，其中兩名醫(yī)學(xué)科學(xué)家為張孝騫和湯飛凡。張孝騫，湘雅醫(yī)院第三任院長(zhǎng)，我國(guó)著名內(nèi)科學(xué)家、醫(yī)學(xué)教育家、中國(guó)消化病學(xué)的奠基人，在醫(yī)學(xué)界有“內(nèi)科全才”之稱。湯飛凡，著名微生物學(xué)家、免疫學(xué)家，世界“衣原體之父”，第一個(gè)成功分離沙眼病毒，獲得諾貝爾獎(jiǎng)提名。</p><p> 　　湘雅治學(xué)嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)，臨床教學(xué)特色突出。在全國(guó)醫(yī)學(xué)院校本科生五次聯(lián)考中，湘雅均名列第一。醫(yī)院擁有國(guó)家國(guó)家級(jí)教學(xué)團(tuán)隊(duì)和國(guó)家級(jí)教名師。近年來， “臨床診斷學(xué)”、“神經(jīng)病學(xué)”、 “傳染病學(xué)”、“臨床麻醉學(xué)”、“耳鼻咽喉頭頸外科學(xué)”等5門課程為國(guó)家級(jí)精品課程，是全國(guó)擁有國(guó)家級(jí)精品課程最多的醫(yī)院。</p><p> 　　百年湘雅醫(yī)療服務(wù)技術(shù)力量雄厚。有臨床醫(yī)療、醫(yī)技科室51個(gè)。醫(yī)院現(xiàn)有主任醫(yī)師196人，副主任醫(yī)師231人。</p><p> 　　國(guó)家臨床重點(diǎn)建設(shè)專科11個(gè)：骨科學(xué)(包括脊柱外科)、重癥醫(yī)學(xué)科、病理學(xué)、護(hù)理?？啤⒙樽韺W(xué)科、耳鼻咽喉科、神經(jīng)外科、中醫(yī)腦病科、心血管內(nèi)科、血液內(nèi)科、口腔頜面外科，居全國(guó)醫(yī)院前列。</p><p> 　　醫(yī)院年門、急診量達(dá)到200萬人次，年出院病人9萬余人次，年大中型手術(shù)近6萬余臺(tái)次;每年開展醫(yī)療新技術(shù)數(shù)十項(xiàng)。湘雅醫(yī)院在多種顱內(nèi)腫瘤的顯微手術(shù)治療、鼻咽癌診治、心腦血管疾病診治、血液疾病治療、多種內(nèi)鏡微創(chuàng)手術(shù)治療、器官移植等方面居國(guó)內(nèi)領(lǐng)先地位。</p><p> 　　湘雅醫(yī)院科學(xué)研究在國(guó)內(nèi)占有較高的學(xué)術(shù)地位。擁有國(guó)家重點(diǎn)建設(shè)學(xué)科5個(gè)：神經(jīng)病學(xué)、耳鼻咽喉科學(xué)、普通外科學(xué)、胸外科學(xué)、內(nèi)分泌科學(xué)。醫(yī)院有研究所4個(gè)，衛(wèi)生部重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室和研究中心3個(gè)，一級(jí)博士授予點(diǎn)2個(gè)，衛(wèi)生部研究培訓(xùn)中心3個(gè)。擁有博士導(dǎo)師106 名，碩士生導(dǎo)師174名。近10年來，共招收研究生3641名,其中博士生1246名,碩士生2395名。已畢業(yè)的博士生876名,碩士生1890名。</p><p> 　　“十二五”的開局之年，獲國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金57項(xiàng)，中標(biāo)經(jīng)費(fèi)達(dá)2700萬元，位列進(jìn)入全國(guó)同級(jí)別醫(yī)療機(jī)構(gòu)第一方陣。近5年來中標(biāo)科研項(xiàng)目1200余項(xiàng)，獲得“863”、“973”、和國(guó)家重大支撐計(jì)劃項(xiàng)目20余項(xiàng)。醫(yī)院發(fā)表在中國(guó)科技論文統(tǒng)計(jì)源期刊上的科研論文數(shù)量連續(xù)多年穩(wěn)居全國(guó)同類醫(yī)院前列。</p><p> 　　2010年，全國(guó)公立醫(yī)院社位貢獻(xiàn)度排名，位居全國(guó)第五。醫(yī)院相繼榮獲全國(guó)衛(wèi)生系統(tǒng)先進(jìn)集體、全國(guó)百家醫(yī)院、全國(guó)科普工作先進(jìn)集體、全國(guó)行風(fēng)建設(shè)先進(jìn)集體、全國(guó)衛(wèi)生系統(tǒng)護(hù)理巾幗文明崗、全國(guó)百姓放心示范醫(yī)院等多種榮譽(yù)稱號(hào)。</p><p> 　　湘雅醫(yī)院與美、日、英、法、德等20多個(gè)國(guó)家和地區(qū)有著廣泛的合作交流。</p><p> 　　Brief Introduction</p><p> 　　Xiangya Hospital of Central South University was one of the earliest hospitals of Western medicine established by Yale-China Association and named Yale-China Hospital in 1906. In the year 1913 the Yuqun Association of Hunan Province authorized by Hunan Provincial Government and Yale-China Association organized the “Xiangya Medical Association” and established Xiangya Medical College (now renamed Xiangya School of Medicine) in the following year. In February 1915 Yale-China Hospital was renamed Xiangya Hospital, and became the teaching hospital affiliated to Xiangya Medical College. On October 18, 1915 the hospital moved to the place where the hospital is now located. In the spring of 1918 the hospital building was completed; it owned 120 beds and the best hospital building in China at that time. In the year 1942 the hospital building and facilities were destroyed by Japanese air strike. When Chinese people won the anti-Japanese war in August 1945, the hospital was rebuilt at the same site, and the number of the beds was increased to 250. On December 8, 1951 Xiangya Hospital was taken over by the People’s Government, and was affiliated to Xiangya Medical College officially. On October 1, 1953 Xiangya Medical College was renamed Hunan Medical College, and Xiangya Hospital changed its name to the Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Medical College. At that time the hospital had 460 beds, 220,000 out-patients, and 6,000 in-patients per year, the number of which was the largest in China. In October 1958 the Second Affiliated Hospital was founded, so the hospital was renamed the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Medical College. In May 1978 Hunan Medical College entered the governing system of the Ministry of Health, and was renamed Hunan Medical University in December 1978. The hospital was renamed the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Medical University and had 760 beds. In 1992 the hospital was renamed Xiangya Hospital. The hospital entered a period of rapid development, 3500 beds are put in use right now, and the hospital was rated Tertiary-A Hospital, which was among the first of its kind in Hunan province. When the Central South University was established through mergence of 3 universities including Hunan Medical University in the year 2000, the hospital was renamed Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. Now Xiangya is 100 years old. In 100 years, Xiangya people have served the public health sincerely despite all the hardships and difficulties and fostered Xiangya spirit of “preciseness, integrity, unity and enterprising”. The hospital is reputed both in China and abroad for its strict management, excellent leechcraft and outstanding talents. As a large number of modern medical masters and famous medical experts such as Zhang Xiaoqian, Tang Feifan and Li Zhenpian were cultivated and working here, Xiangya was made famous by the saying: “ Xiangya is the best in South (China)”.</p><p> 　　Through trials and hardships of a hundred years, Xiangya Hospital of Central South University has become a large-scale modernized comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, education and scientific research, and an important center of medical treatment, education and research under the direct administration of Ministry of Health. The hospital now covers an area of over 210 Mu, over 1,500 beds available for patients, over 2,100 registered employees, of which 84.7% are professionals and technicians, and 350 employees have titles higher than associate professor or its equivalent. In the hospital there are 51 clinical departments, 4 research institutes, 2 key labs of the Ministry of Health, and 3 research &amp; training centers of the Ministry of Health. Currently the hospital has total capital assets of 1.5 billion Yuan, among them the equipments’ value exceeds 300 million Yuan. The hospital has the large modern medical equipments such as Gamma Knife, DSA, CT, linear accelerator and magnetic resonance. Every year the hospital has over 1.3 million outpatients and ER patients, and over 50,000 inpatients, over 30,000 operations. The hospital develops over 100 new treatment techniques annually, and it leads China in the treatments including organ transplantation, large-area burn treatment, excision of base-of-skull brain tumors, endoscopy &amp; minimally invasive therapy, hematological diseases, nasopharynx cancer and cardiovascular diseases. The clinic medicine and the combination of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine are first level disciplines authorized to grant doctorate degree and post-doctor stations. Currently the hospital has 71 doctorate supervisors, 57 of them are on the job, and 138 master supervisors. By the end of 2005, the hospital has cultivated 528 doctors and 969 masters, and has trained the international students from many countries and regions. The hospital offers training to over 2,000 students of other kinds of education every year. The hospital enjoys good reputation in clinical education and has a number of medical educators well known in China From the year 1984, the hospital has borne over 1,800 scientific research projects at provincial or above levels, of which over 130 are at national level. The hospital has made over 290 scientific research achievements, of which 4 won the National Scientific &amp; technological Progress Award. In recent years the hospital has been ranked among Top 10 of the hospitals in China regarding the published papers in source journals for Chinese Scientific and Technological Papers and Citations.
